Stour and Orwell Society
A Society dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Stour and Orwell Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Whether you love nothing more than a long walk beside the sea, a brisk stroll before lunch, cycling along quiet lanes, sailing iconic estuaries, or spending hours quietly watching some of the UK’s rarest wildlife, the beautiful landscape of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has it all.
For those less active, or those who have tired themselves out exploring the area, then a cup of coffee in a seaside town or a fantastic pub meal and a pint over-looking one of the AONB’s estuaries may be just the thing. If you are looking for somewhere to stay then look no further that one of the area’s luxury hotels or one of its many holiday cottages.
All we ask is that you tread lightly on our landscape. It is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for you and future generations. We all have an important role to play in keeping this place special, whether for your next visit or for when you bring your grandchildren here when you grow old.
